Distributor Re-Build Kit for 0.231.159.008
Excludes Cap and Rotor
Due to the high and escalating cost of caps & rotors, we offer this kit for the 0.231.159.008 distributor without cap or rotor. This lets you choose your own brand of cap and rotor, or use ones that you already have.
This kit is for Bosch distributors with number 0 231 159 008 on the side; it's the distributor for the 911T from 1970-71. The kit includes points, springs, bushings, shims, seals, hardware, felt dot, and gear pin.
New cap hold-down clips are available; please see part number 901.602.965.00. Drive gears are available too.
This kit is intended for the professional rebuilder who has the tools and skills to install the bushings and ream them to fit the shaft, and who has a distributor machine to set the unit up after rebuild. Severe damage may be inflicted on the ignition distributor and the engine if the distributor is improperly rebuilt, set up, or installed.
Instructions and diagrams aren't included. If you feel you need instructions, please let us rebuild your distributor or take it to an experienced rebuilder.
We do not offer partial kits, but we do sell many individual parts for the Bosch and Marelli distributors on Porsche models.
If using this distributor on a non-CDI car, you will also need a condenser, part # 616.602.227.01.
