5k Ignition Wire Connector
These connectors are used primarily on the coil wire of CDI powered cars to maintain the correct resistance in front of the coil. This can be essential when using a replacement ignition rotor, which often does not have the correct resistance for Porsche CDI systems.

Maintaining correct resistance values is vital for preventing premature, inconvenient failure of CDI boxes and coils. Three-pin CDI systems require ~5K ohms on the rotor or cap-to-coil wire, plus ~1K ohms on the plug connectors. Six-pin CDI systems require ~6K ohms combined on the rotor and/or coil wire, ~3K ohms on the plug connectors, and ~1K ohms on each plug wire connector at the distributor cap.  

CDI systems should also have solid core ignition wires (not the resistance per foot type) as well as non-resistance spark plugs.

Twin-plug CDI systems are particularly susceptible to premature component failure, because twin plug rotors are almost never manufactured with the sufficient amount of resistance.

5K connectors are sold per each. We also have a set that includes this connector plus six of our 1K ohm cap connectors.

Return Policy

All returns require pre-approval. All returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee, with the exception of approved warranty returns, or if we ship a different part number than ordered. We do not accept returns after 30 days.

Inspect your order immediately when it arrives. We must be notified within 5 days if there are any missing, damaged, or incorrect parts.

Returns (except warranty) won't be accepted if the part:
 - Has been installed, used, damaged, is dirty or incomplete
 - Is not sellable as new
 - Arrived in sealed packaging that has been opened
 - Is an electrical part, a distributor spring, a custom or cut-to-length item, or a Special Order
 - Was purchased more than 30 days earlier

Parts must be returned properly padded in a sturdy cardboard box. Returns sent in envelopes will be refused. Items damaged in transit to us cannot be refunded. All returns must be shipped prepaid.
