Solex P40-II Carburetor Parts
The Solex P40-II carburetor first came on to the Porsche scene in 1960 with the 356B Super 90 engines. The original Solex design was a 40 mm throttle plate on a solid shaft between two cylinders. In 1968 Porsche switched to the Solex P40-II split Shaft Carburetor, this was a much better design in that it allowed for individual adjustment of each throttle plate, that combined with new throttle plate design and progression port placement made the carburetors extremely tune-able and smooth to drive with.
