Product Description:
Front A-Arm Bushing, Rear, GENUINE
Genuine Porsche A-Arm Bushing for the rear of the A-Arm. This bushing is extremely important to the correct operation and function of the front suspension. It is responsible for setting the correct A-Arm position as well as allowing the arm to move correctly thru its designed range of motion.
This bushing is for Porsche 911 and 912 models from 1965-67.
BEWARE OF AFTERMARKET VERSIONS OF THIS PART
There have been several aftermarket versions of this part. We inspected one such bushing, and it is nowhere close to the standard of the original. Instead of being a vulcanized rubber bushing, it is manufactured as three independent parts that are then assembled by pressing them together.
The rubber component of the aftermarket bushing we inspected is almost twice as hard as the original bushing, measuring 72A on the Durometer compared to 40A for the original. The physical dimensions of the aftermarket bushings are inconsistent with the original as well. For example, the assembled (non-vulcanized) aftermarket bushing is considerably shorter than the genuine bushing. This will result in a reduction of the castor, which in turn will cause the vehicle to be less stable at high speed. The aftermarket bushing we examined is dangerous in our opinion, so we only recommend and sell the Genuine Porsche version.
