Conversion Phenolic Insulator Kit         
We have developed these phenolic insulators to solve several problems with fitting the Weber 40 IDA three barrel carburetors to the 2.7L and 3.0L fuel injected 911 engines. The intake ports of these engines have cutouts for the fuel injector.  The fuel injection intake gasket barely makes contact with the intake manifold and often results in an intake manifold leak. The same goes for the original carburetor intake gasket, which just barely covers the port, also resulting in intake system air leaks.

Our phenolic spacer allows you to use the fuel injection gasket against the cylinder head and then use the correct carburetor intake manifold gasket against the intake manifold. This eliminates the possibility of un-metered air entering the engine, which would cause the engine to run lean. These insulators will also greatly reduce the carburetor and intake manifold temperatures, which will help stop fuel boiling off and vapor lock issues.

The insulators in this kit are ~5m/m thick and will fit the engines of Porsche® 911 models from 1974-1977 and 1980-1983 originally equipped with CIS fuel injection. This kit is for the smaller (36mm) cylinder head port size.  It will *not* fit the larger (39mm) port size used on the 1978-79 model 911 SC.  We have a similar kit available for those large port engines.

This kit includes six cylinder head to phenolic gaskets, six conversion phenolic plates, six phenolic to intake manifold gaskets, and twelve new nuts and wave washers.  Use your original intake studs. Finishes and colors on parts may vary from photos.

Inspect your order immediately when it arrives. We must be notified within 5 days if there are any missing, damaged, or incorrect parts.

Returns (except warranty) won't be accepted if the part:
 - Has been installed, used, damaged, is dirty or incomplete
 - Is not sellable as new
 - Arrived in sealed packaging that has been opened
 - Is an electrical part, a distributor spring, a custom or cut-to-length item, or a Special Order
 - Was purchased more than 30 days earlier

Parts must be returned properly padded in a sturdy cardboard box. Returns sent in envelopes will be refused. Items damaged in transit to us cannot be refunded. All returns must be shipped prepaid.
